Today is Pentecost Sunday, a day for us to go back all the way to the beginning of the church and marvel at how we got to where we are. Unfortunately, how we got here was not always a straight line. Sometimes in our lives the Holy Spirit breaks through and changes everything. What we find sometimes is that God is not ruining everything but rather setting us free to live the lives God intended for us in the first place.

No. Jesus guides us into the way we should go, but it might look like someone else's path. We are set free not by our own merits but by Jesus Christ. Let's explore together.

As we begin a new worship series, we are going to explore what it means to be set free to live by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus' resurrection should mean something to us everyday. And everyday we are set free by Jesus to live a life in his name. How does Jesus make you feel free?

Cut for Time: Digging into the Details

Eric and Pastor Clay sat down to discuss worship on Sunday, May 8, and the message. It was a fun, busy service that did not leave a lot of room for a full message, so Pastor Clay recorded a version of the message afterwards. For Cut for Time, Eric and Pastor Clay dug into some of the details from John 10 that may have been in a longer message.

Pastor Clay did make a factual error while they were talking. John 10 states that the events unfold during the Festival of Dedication (of the temple, a.k.a. Hanukkah), and so they talked about Antiochus Epiphanies. Pastor Clay accidentally refers to him as a regional governor when Antiochus was the king of the Seleucid Empire. We apologize for his error.

Sunday Message: Faith Stages

Scripture: John 10:22-30

Today, as we continued our 124-year tradition of rocking babies, celebrated seniors, and awarded 3rd Grade Bibles, Pastor Clay helped us think about the transitions we all go through and how we hear God's voice in the midst of all of them. Jesus promised that nothing would snatch us from his hand. Where are you in life, and how are you walking with Jesus?
