We started a new message series devoted to aligning our steps with God by looking at the example of a widow in the Temple who gave everything she had. That day, she is the one who taught the crowds a lesson as she stepped in to the challenge of generosity. She trusted her gifts to God in order to do some good. Pastor Clay visited his first appointment to serve as a guest preacher at Brookings First UMC. In Luke's gospel, Jesus interacts with ten lepers, heals them, and receives a thank you from only one of them. Where do you find yourself in this story? Leper 1? Leper 3? A gratitude path that recognizes Jesus turns us into Leper #10.

Paul tells Timothy to be ready to proclaim the gospel in favorable and unfavorable times, but those words are for more than Timothy. These words are for us. Why do you follow Jesus? Why should someone in your life follow Jesus?
