Sunday Nov 26, 2023
Sunday Nov 26, 2023
Scripture: Ephesians 1:15-23, GNT
On this last day of the church year, before the first Sunday of Advent, we celebrate Christ the King Sunday. But when was the first Christ the King Sunday? What was going on in the world that made it necessary? Pastor Clay the Church Nerd is here to help us understand and draw some parallels from the time of the Apostle Paul, the time of Pope Pius XI, and our modern day. Let us be reminded that Jesus was the king in the beginning, will be the king in the end, and even now He is king.

Sunday Message: Building on Christ
Monday Nov 20, 2023
Monday Nov 20, 2023
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 3:1-9
Series: Legacy
On this final week of our legacy series, we take a look at what the foundation of our legacy truly is and what can happen when we build the right kind of legacy. Corinth was a church that was building a legacy based on themselves, but Paul was calling them to aim higher. In our own lives, we can try to build a basis for a legacy on some human endeavor, but that only lasts as long as the endeavor does. The legacy Paul is calling all of us to build is a legacy that will last, a legacy that will bring forth the kingdom of God. Are we committed to that kind legacy?

Sunday Message: How Will We Be Remembered?
Sunday Nov 12, 2023
Sunday Nov 12, 2023
Scripture: Matthew 26:6-13
Series: Legacy
Today's scripture gives us two distinct examples of what a legacy can be. One is an extravagant expression of love and devotion to Jesus; the other is one of judgement and criticism. Sometimes, whether we want to admit it or not, it is more likely that our legacy could be the second one, but what would it look like to stop at nothing to show devotion to Jesus and go over the top to show our love for Him?

Cut for Time: It’s Okay to be Messy
Wednesday Nov 08, 2023
Wednesday Nov 08, 2023
Eric and Pastor Clay are back to talk about Sunday's very busy service, shorter-than-usual sermon, and everything that Pastor Clay cut. They discuss a bit more of Pastor Clay's writing process and the messy backstory of the Family of God. All throughout faith history, God has used messy people (which is good news for us, right?).

Monday Nov 06, 2023

Scripture: Ruth 4:9-22
Series: Legacy
Ruth's life is defined by her choice to stay with Naomi. That choice leads to the choice to marry Boaz, which leads to the birth of Obed, which eventually - generations later - leads to the birth of Jesus. Her faithfulness paved the way for the world to change. What choices are you making today that will leave a legacy of faithfulness for future generations?

Monday Oct 30, 2023
Scripture: Numbers 27:12-23
Series: Legacy
This week, Pastor Clay started a new message series about using our time, talent, and treasure to create a lasting legacy in our lives and in our church. One of the ways we do that is by investing in the next generation to ensure that the work we are doing propels us into a future with hope. When faced with the end of his life, Moses established his legacy by ensuring that God's people would not be without a leader. How can we leave a legacy by following Moses' example?

While Pastor Clay took the weekend off, Eric Stearns stepped into the pulpit to help us think about what it means to take a time out and connect with God. Moses was frustrated, exhausted, and did not know what to do, so he took the time to go connect with God in the wilderness. Eric shares how he connects with God and invites us to follow Moses' lead when we are exhausted and frustrated.
