That is especially impactful when it comes to our focus for today, "Thy kingdom come; thy will be done." We have a will and a kingdom, but what does it mean to pray for God's kingdom and God's will above our own? Let's explore that today!

As we begin this new message series unlocking the power of the Lord's Prayer, we begin by laying the foundations of the importance of prayer and why Jesus gave the disciples a prayer to say in the first place. The first thing Jesus teaches the disciples to pray is to uphold the holiness of God's name and to place God's name above our own name.

On this Baptism of the Lord Sunday, it is interesting to consider why exactly Jesus submitted to the waters of baptism. John's baptism was for repentance from sin, but Jesus is the Sinless Savior. From what did he need to repent? Nothing. But Jesus' baptism did make him new. Let us consider how our baptisms do not make us better but rather make us new as we are new creations in Christ.

On Christmas Eve, we see the light of Christ shining brilliantly into our world, but we still know the reality of darkness. We are still as Isaiah said "a people who walk in darkness." Yet we believe that, because of Jesus, our darkness cannot defeat the light and love of God made known in Jesus Christ. Where is there darkness in your life still awaiting the love-light of God?
